MEPN through Project PINTAR successfully held report presentation and Gemba findings session with Markaids (M) Sdn. Bhd., focusing on the presentation of analysis derived primarily from the company’s five-year financial data inputs, complemented by on-site Gemba observations. The session highlighted key productivity trends, performance gaps, and cost-related insights identified through the longitudinal financial analysis.

In addition, findings from the Gemba walk were shared to contextualise the financial data with actual operational practices, enabling a more holistic understanding of the company’s productivity performance. Constructive discussions were held on improvement opportunities and practical recommendations, which will serve as a basis for developing targeted action plans to enhance operational efficiency, productivity growth, and long-term sustainability.

MPC melalui Bahagian Pengurusan Moden & Teknologi baru-baru ini telah melancarkan sesi pengenalan bagi Program Peningkatan Produktiviti Melalui Intervensi Berimpak Tinggi, yang dihadiri oleh 33 syarikat pembuatan tempatan. Sesi ini menandakan permulaan fasa transformasi bagi syarikat untuk melonjakkan kecekapan operasi dan memperkukuh aliran pendapatan mereka.

Selaras dengan aspirasi Ekonomi MADANI dan New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), program ini bertindak sebagai pemangkin kepada transformasi perniagaan yang mampan. Melalui pendekatan Pengurusan Moden yang holistik—bermula daripada analisis diagnostik hingga ke laporan impak—MPC komited untuk membantu industri merapatkan jurang produktiviti sedia ada.

Bagi tahun 2026, MPC menyasarkan penyertaan sebanyak 200 syarikat dalam inisiatif ini. Sasaran utama program adalah untuk memacu penjimatan kos operasi yang optimum serta meningkatkan kecekapan syarikat sekurang-kurangnya 20% melalui pelaksanaan modul intervensi yang intensif.

MPC telah mengadakan perbincangan strategik bersama Jimah Power Plant, sebuah loji jana kuasa utama negara yang menyokong kestabilan bekalan elektrik nasional serta mempunyai seramai 240 orang pekerja yang terlibat dalam operasi, penyelenggaraan, kualiti dan keselamatan loji. Jimah Power Plant juga pernah meraih Anugerah Emas di International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) 2025 di Taipei, sekali gus mencerminkan komitmen organisasi terhadap kecemerlangan kualiti dan budaya penambahbaikan berterusan.

Perbincangan ini memfokuskan kepada hala tuju inisiatif peningkatan produktiviti bagi tahun 2026 dengan penekanan terhadap pengukuhan kecekapan operasi, pemantapan sistem kualiti serta integrasi amalan keselamatan dan kelestarian. MPC telah mengadakan perbincangan strategik bersama Planworth bagi meneroka ruang kolaborasi dalam memperkukuh peningkatan produktiviti dan daya saing industri Malaysia selaras dengan hala tuju MPC. Perbincangan ini memberi tumpuan kepada potensi kerjasama dalam peningkatan produktiviti syarikat serta pengukuhan ekosistem perniagaan melalui pendekatan bersepadu dan berfokus, dengan keutamaan kepada persatuan industri, perusahaan kecil dan sederhana (SMEs) serta vendor tempatan.

Planworth bersetuju untuk meneroka perancangan bersama bagi membangunkan satu program kolaboratif bersama MPC, termasuk cadangan pelaksanaan Vendor Development Program (VDP) bagi meningkatkan keupayaan, produktiviti dan daya saing vendor serta SMEs dalam rantaian nilai lalu menyumbang kepada produktiviti negara.

LPN | Strategic Session on Selling Heavy Duty Commercial Vehicles in Malaysia

Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) through Logistics Productivity Nexus (LPN) organised a Strategic Session on the Approval Process for Selling Heavy Duty Commercial Vehicles. The session was attended by representatives from Eurocham Malaysia and industry stakeholders.

The session aimed to provide updates on the current status and key findings arising from recent engagements with APAD. It sought to strengthen alignment among stakeholders and facilitate the resolution of identified regulatory issues affecting the approval process. MPC through LPN proposed to play an oversight role in identifying potential requirements to improve the application process as well as to validate key findings with Eurocham based on industry experience in licensing applications.

Key issues highlighted included issuance of the Surat Tawaran Kelulusan (STK) with several cases experiencing prolonged processing periods. Furthermore, industry raised concerns regarding local authority parking approval requirements including cases parked within company-owned premises. Additional structural challenges were identified as the fragmented approval processes across multiple agencies and limited system capacity within the i-SPKP platform.

As way forward, follow-up engagement involving APAD and Eurocham has been scheduled for 30 January 2026 to further deliberate on potential improvements application criteria. These efforts reflect MPC’s continued role in driving regulatory efficiency and supporting productivity growth within the logistics sector.

The online meeting discusses the NIMP Mission 1.2.2, focusing on integrating the value chain with proposing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in vehicles, particularly within the Electrical and Electronics (E&E) industry. The discussion strategically addressed pain points within the current ecosystem and identified areas for enhancement locally. A key emphasis was placed on leveraging local expertise and capabilities to produce both software and hardware components capable of handling embedded software compatible with the sophisticated requirements of ADAS systems.

Discussion continued with identifying collaboration between various stakeholders, including automotive manufacturers, technology companies, and government agencies, to develop a robust local ecosystem for ADAS technology. By nurturing partnerships with local companies, the aim is to build the necessary infrastructure and expertise to support the production of ADAS components domestically, thereby reducing dependency on imports and promoting economic growth in the E&E sector. Moving forward, further discussions and action plans will be formulated to drive the implementation of the proposed strategies, ensuring alignment with the objectives outlined in the National Automotive Policy and New Industrial Master Plan.

The NIMP 1.2.2 workshop on March 22, 2024, fostered dialogue between Aerospace and Electrical & Electronics sectors, leading to the proposal of two projects, "Inflight Portable Experience" and "Localized Urban Air Mobility.

The workshop on NIMP 1.2.2, convened on March 22, 2024, provided a platform for representatives from Aerospace and Electrical & Electronics sectors to engage in discussions regarding potential collaborative opportunities. From this session, two distinct projects emerged: "Inflight Portable Experience" and "Localized Urban Air Mobility." Key action item have been identified to involve Ministry of Transport (MOT) in support of collaboration and resources for stakeholders.

Moving forward, the emphasis will be on refining the projects with stakeholders’ involvement and securing the necessary resources for implementation with a specific focus by engaging MOT and fostering ongoing coordination among stakeholders.

On 5th May 2021, Delivery Management Office (DMO) has successfully organised Teh Tarik Session with Nexus Champions in PJ Hilton Hotel. This session served as a platform to:

-enhance synergies among nine (9) Productivity Nexus in the implementation of productivity improvement programs;

-discuss direction and way forward of private sector-led Nexus activity; and

-disseminate information on the latest government initiatives to help industries affected by COVID-19.

Several topics including business formalities and strategy for effective implementation have been discussed during the session. DMO managed to collect valuable inputs for further improvement on the operation of DMO and Productivity Nexus
