National performance was boosted by the significant growth in domestic demand and steady global growth and trade, which has also resulted in the growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at 4.7%. Further complemented by the stability in employment growth of 2.4%, a conducive financial condition and steady inflation, the country’s economic growth has been well sustained.
PRODUCTIVITY REPORT 2017/2018
Malaysia experienced a positive labour productivity growth of 3.8% from 78,294 Ringgit in 2016 to 81,268 Ringgit in year 2017. Malaysia’s labour productivity is anticipated to expand between 3.0% and 4.0% in 2018.This performance is expected to benefit from the positive GDP growth, which is estimated to be between 5.5% and 6.0% in 2018.
